Tonight's The Night Barack Will Have The Majority Of Pledged Delegates

After Obama wins Oregon tonight, he'll have enough pledged delegates to declare victory. However, out of respect for Hillary Clinton, he isn't going to declare the race over this evening, just that he has won the most pledged delegates.

I am told from very inside sources he will be giving the speech of his career this evening from Iowa. It's significant he's giving his speech from Iowa, where he had his first win.

Oregon is on Pacific time, and though it is anticipated he'll be declared the winner almost as soon as the polls close there, don't expect his speech until 9:30-10:30 CST.

This is going to be a great night for Obama supporters.

Kentucky is also holding primaries, where Hillary will win what amounts to a meaningless victory relative to getting the nomination.

The Real McCain

Please watch this 3 minute video then share it with everyone you know.

Expose the contradictions and lies of John McCain.

Wrap Up And Scores From Dancing With The Stars Last Night (May 19) And Who Will Win The Final Tonight

The finalists danced two dances last night, and when all three couples did the Cha Cha at the same time, it was clear that Kristi and Mark were the best in the group.

However, the choice of the Cha Cha was unlucky for the men. Since lifts were allowed, Cristian was at a big disadvantage because he can only use one arm.

Jason was never great at the Latin dances, so he had the misfortune of the draw. Had they all had to do a Fox Trot, Jason would have done much better.

Kristi and Mark scored a perfect 30 on their Cha Cha and a perfect 30 on their freestyle, for a combined score of 60 out of 60.

In second place is Cristian and Cheryl, who scored a 26 on their Cha Cha, and a 26 on their freestyle, for a combined score of 52 out of 60.

In last place is Jason and Edyta who scored a 21 on their Cha Cha and a 27 on their freestyle.

That all being said, it's far from over.

While there's no question that Kristi and Mark are the best couple in the finals, Jason and Edyta are the most charming and certainly ooze sex appeal and style, which plays into the voting. Last, but certainly not least, is Cristian and Cheryl. Christian has been dancing with only one arm for 3 weeks, and he could get the courage and heart vote.

So Kristi and Mark should win, but I'm picking Jason and Edyta based on fan vote and another chance to dance, tonight.

If We're Going To Go After Potential First Ladies, Let's Look At A Thief And Addict Named Cindy McCain

So this morning Tennessee once again hit the national news with unreasonable attacks from the GOP on Obama and his wife.

I left this comment on Bill Hobbs' site, the communications director for the GOP in TN, but I'm not sure he'll post it, so I thought I'd post it here.

Here is what I have to say about Bill and Robin attacking Michelle Obama:

I don't think y'all want to continue go there.

Remember Cindy McCain stole drugs from her charities and was addicted to pain medication.

Stealing from her charities.

That's far worse than anything Michelle ever said.

Also, Cindy just divested 2 million from Darfur. What took her so long? It's not like she didn't know a long time ago that investing in Darfur is investing in genocide.

Just saying, you want to put the potential first ladies up against each other, Cindy is going to lose that battle badly.

UPDATE: Here is the video courtesy of WKRN of The Obama's on GMA talking about the TN GOP attack on Michelle.

The End Game Is Tomorrow For The Democratic Nomination

This photo is a photo of over 75 thousand people showing up at Portland Waterfront Park to hear Barack Obama, yesterday.

Ya think he'll win Oregon?

When he does win Oregon tomorrow night, he'll have almost enough pledged delegates to reach the top. When you add the superdelegates, it reaches near the number 2025.

So that's why the Obama campaign and pundits have been saying it's all but over after Oregon.

Oh yeah, what about Michigan and Florida? Well, as you know, Hillary signed an agreement just like Barack did, to punish the delegates of these two states for moving up their primary dates. Now that she's so far behind, she wants to break that pledge/promise. (That should have been expected from a Clinton)

On May 31, Howard Dean and other Democrat leaders are meeting to see how to seat Michigan and Florida.

However...

the plan is after tomorrow night for enough superdelegates to pledge to Obama between now and May 31, that Michigan and Florida become a moot point on May 31. By May 31, Barack Obama will have the 2025 delegates needed for the nomination.

It's o'vah.

Meanwhile, Hillary will win Kentucky tomorrow and act like she can still win while she's vying for the VEEP spot, and then carry this through until Puerto Rico on June 3.

On June 4, both campaigns can stop pretending that it wasn't o'vah weeks before.

YES WE DID!.

McCain Is FOR Negotiating With Hamas. Here Is The Video!

I've seen a lot of hypocrites in politics on both sides, but how on earth did John McCain think he'd get away with running for President and coming to Bush's defense last week about not negotiating with Hamas, when as recent as 2006, McCain wanted America to negotiate with Hamas?

For the record, both Obama and Clinton are AGAINST negotiating with Hamas until they recognize Israel's right to exist. However, McCain tries to make you think he's against it and Obama is for it. That is an out and out lie. And here's the proof.

Please please please pass this video around to everyone you know.

On 60 Minutes Tonight (May 18) Jon Bon Jovi

From CBS

Critics just couldn't see past the big hair he sported when his was one of the hit "hair bands" that broke out in the 1980s and they still can't, says Jon Bon Jovi. That's okay the rocker tells 60 Minutes correspondent Steve Kroft. He gets his respect from family, fans and a phenomenal success that's still going strong after 26 years.

Bon Jovi's interview will be broadcast this Sunday, May 18, at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

"There are critic's darlings. That I won't be. I got that…We've had to suffer the hangover of…the '80s decade," says Bon Jovi. He feels he's gotten enough respect, though. "Is longevity respect? Is coming home and having your family be proud of you respect? Is having those generations of people, heads of industry, or football coaches or Johnny Average spending their hard-earned money [on his recordings and concerts]...respect?" he asks Kroft.

Hair or no, Bon Jovi has seven albums that have gone platinum and enough hit singles to keep filling stadiums in major cities - no mean feat in today's sluggish industry. And besides, says Bon Jovi, just one of his platinum albums, maybe just one song from it, "Living on a Prayer," is enough to etch a special place for him and his band on rock's pantheon. "One of the biggest albums of all time is called 'Slippery When Wet.' If 'Living on a Prayer' hasn't crossed generations and had its influence on this culture and isn't the biggest Karaoke song or stadium song it's up there..." he says.

Bon Jovi tells Kroft he is still enthusiastic about performing. "You'd think why would I beat myself up like that after 25 years? Because you want to be the best. I don't want to think that anyone's coming in there and going to be better tomorrow night," he says.

Late this summer, Bon Jovi will end a 15-month tour that will net the band approximately $250 million in ticket, T-shirt and CD sales. It’s all part of a charmed life he leads. "I haven’t had a bad year since the doctor slapped me on the ass," he laughs.

Kroft's profile of the rock star includes concert footage, a look inside Bon Jovi’s mansion in New Jersey and a tour of a Philadelphia street, whose old townhouses were restored as part of his charitable efforts to improve the neighborhood.

Feel Good Friday

Turn up the speakers and let the music fill your soul. Sing along!

UPDATE: First LeftWingCracker tried to outdo me with some admittedly perfect Otis Redding, and out of nowhere, also from Memphis, Wintermute joined in the competition with some very impressive Al Green.

I'm up against two men who are surrounded with the feel good sounds of Memphis.

Anyone is Nashville care to join in in "Feel Good Friday?"

Why Jews And Other Pro Israel People Should Vote For Barack Obama

I'm Jewish and I'm 100 percent pro Israel and I'm 100 percent pro Barack Obama.

Given the enormous stupidity of Bush's statements yesterday in Israel, I thought it important to explain to all pro Israel people why Bush is wrong and Obama is the best hope for peace for Israel.

Bush's statements comparing some Arab neighbors to Nazis is exactly why they justifiably hate Americans. Bush didn't know a Sunni from a Shia when he invaded Iraq, and he knows less about Islam and Arab culture.

Before I opine further on current politics in the Middle East, let me give you a little of my back story.

I went to college in the 70s with a lot of Palestinian students. Several were in the PLO and the PFLP. They had never had a dialog with a Jew before, and I had never had one with an Arab before.

At the student union building, the epicenter of political debates and protests in the 60s and 70s, I'd meet with these students and debate the Middle East. One told me he would kill me if I was "over there," even knowing I was a nice person. The others, however, were intrigued and engaged in our conversations. Suffice to say they learned a lot from me and I learned a lot from them.

Fast forward to 2001. My neighbors at the time were from Saudi. They were students at Vanderbilt. After 9/11, I knocked on their door and gave them my phone number and told them if they were harassed in any way, to call me. One of them said, "Don't you have that thing on your door that Jews have on their door?" (a Mazuzah) I said, "Yes, I'm Jewish." The Saudi student said, "And you would help us?" Me:"Of course."

Unfortunately, Jews aren't allowed in Saudi Arabia,(though they took that info off their official website after 9/11)so these men think we(Jews) cook with their blood. It's what they were taught in school. (Sadly, it's still being taught in some schools in Arab countries)

Anyhow, I struck up a friendship with one of them. I always met him in the hall, because I knew they weren't supposed to be alone with a woman. We exchanged books, and talked of mutual interests. He loved my dog and my dog loved him. He had made his first Jewish friend.

During Ramadan, I left dates by his/their door, because I knew that eating dates was how they broke their all day fast. My friend's roommate wasn't convinced I didn't put Arab blood in the dates, so I ate some in front of him. He was baffled, and couldn't understand why a Jew was being nice to him/them.

Fast forward to May 4, 2002. The Saudi neighbors, who knew I was on a night schedule, were banging on my door early in the morning screaming my name. I ran to the door and when I opened the door, black smoke was coming down the hall. I grabbed my dog and purse, and they helped me and my dog get out of the building, which a couple of minutes later was engulfed in flames.

The moral of the story, if I hadn't practiced diplomacy with my "enemies," I wouldn't be alive, today, and they wouldn't have taken back the message to Saudi that Jews don't cook with their blood. It's a start.

Barack Obama is the only person running for President who understands the need to respect other cultures and create a dialog based on respect for different cultures and countries.

Many people in America have never traveled outside of America, but Barack Obama looks like the majority of the people in the world. Three continents, Africa, Asia and almost all of South America look like him, and many countries in Europe do as well.

Something so small as knowing to take your shoes off before entering a home, or not shaking hands with a woman in some countries, can make the difference between war and peace.

While we may not agree with other cultures, especially ones that don't meet our criteria for freedom, we can at least come to peace agreements with most of them if instead of trying to change them to be like us, and respect them (and they us) as long as they don't use violence.

I believe with all of my heart that Barack Obama is the person best qualified to negotiate peace with the rest of the world, especially between Israel and her Arab neighbors.

I implore all of you who are on the fence and/or heard Bush's despicable lies about Obama to consider what this pro Israel writer has to say on this matter.

What John Edwards Endorsement Means To The Obama Campaign

Posted by Picasa

Yesterday evening, former Presidential candidate John Edwards endorsed Barack Obama.
His endorsement was more than welcome, in fact, perhaps needed to show Obama can indeed win in places Hillary says Obama can't win.

Hillary and her partner in crime, Bill, played the race card in North Carolina, and never stopped from that point on, including Bill playing a mean "Bubba" and not the Rhodes Scholar Bill Clinton is in West Virginia.

Once we can get rid of that type of divisiveness, the old political Washington insider games that the Clintons play so well, we can heal our party and heal our nation.

To wit, John Edwards said, "There is one man who knows in his heart that it is time tear down that wall and make one America, Barack Obama."

John Edwards frequently clashed with Hillary Clinton during debates, saying "You can't just trade corporate Republicans for corporate Democrats."

Hillary pushed just one time too many on Tuesday evening with her consistent diatribe about Obama not being able to win blue collar workers and further dividing Democrats, and Edwards decided the day after West Viginia would be the time to announce his support for Obama.

Now let's hope we're looking at the ticket (Obama-Edwards) for 08!

Official Announcement From Obama Campaign About Endorsement From John Edwards

(I'll have a lot more to say in the morning about Edwards' endorsement. Suffice to say I am thrilled!)

Official announcement from Obama campaign:

I have some very exciting news.

My good friend John Edwards is endorsing our campaign and joining our movement for change.

We're here in Grand Rapids, Michigan -- and if you receive this message in time, you can probably turn on your TV and be part of the moment.

I'm deeply honored by John's support. He is a true leader who dedicated his career to improving the lives of ordinary Americans.

John ran a strong, principled campaign for president, focusing on a number of important issues where we share common ground -- universal health care, bringing our troops home from Iraq, and eliminating poverty in America.

The way he ran his campaign was also important. He ran in a way that reflected our shared conviction that we need to fundamentally change politics.

Like our campaign, John's campaign never accepted donations from Washington lobbyists or special interest PACs.

Let's welcome John Edwards to the campaign with an outpouring of the kind of grassroots support that is bringing our political process back to the people.

In case you missed it, former Tennessean columnist Tim Chavez is now blogging.

Let's Call A Spade A Spade

Do you think Hillary would have won by such a large margin in West Virginia if she hadn't garnered a substantial racist vote?

Not every uneducated person is a racist, but every racist person is uneducated.

Hillary should be ashamed, not proud of winning 1/3 of the votes of people who said they would never vote for an African American.

The win in West Virginia is meaningless in terms of Obama getting the nomination. It is relevant, however, in terms of Obama needing to put a white person on the ticket who can appeal to people who say they won't vote for Obama because of his skin.

Why must we try to pretend that some of Hillary's supporters aren't racist?

I know I know. I'm an elitist.

Well, that's what educated voters and candidates are called these days.

The real irony is, Hillary Clinton is the elitist who grew up going to private schools and has earned 10 million a year (with her husband) for the last ten years, while Obama rolled up his sleeves and went to work in the mean streets of Chicago, where his wife Michelle grew up.

So let's stop pretending who is who and what is what.

Oregon, which is a diverse state and full of educated people will show you how non racist America votes on May 20.

Vatican Says It's Okay To Believe In Aliens

VATICAN CITY (AP) - "The Vatican's chief astronomer says that believing in aliens does not contradict faith in God.

The Rev. Jose Gabriel Funes, the Jesuit director of the Vatican Observatory, says that the vastness of the universe means it is possible there could be other forms of life outside Earth, even intelligent ones.

In an interview published Tuesday by Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano, Funes says that such a notion "doesn't contradict our faith" because aliens would still be God's creatures.

The interview was headlined "The extraterrestrial is my brother." Funes said that ruling out the existence of aliens would be like "putting limits" on God's creative freedom."

So the moral of the story is we can welcome Aliens from the Moon and Mars, but not Mexico.
